Road trip: Coastal Maine (part 1)

Fall is certainly the best season for a road trip and, like they say in the US, Coastal Maine is a "shore" thing to do!  It was not our first time in Maine and we are always blown away by the scenery.  The coastline, the harbors, the friendly people, good food, you will find everything to make your road trip memorable!

Start your trip in Mt Desert Island and drive south on Historic Rt 1 towards Portland.  First stop, Bar Harbor.

On top of Mt Cadillac in Acadia National Park, the view is breathtaking. Especially early in the morning...

The ferry between Nova Scotia and Bar Harbor.

The fishing boats look so small!!!  Must be scary to see this steel giant coming your way!

After a day's work catching lobsters...

Main Street in Bar Harbor, probably the most dog-friendly town in Coastal Maine!  Geddy's restaurant is  THE place to eat a great lobster!

Northeast Harbor, where we met this guy riding his Ural bike...

Another harbor on Rt 1.

You may not find a lot a sandy beaches in Maine, except for the more touristic places like Ogunquit, but you will always find picture perfect spots along the way...
